Name: BALARAM KUNDU           
Biography:

He has been a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Jadavpur University since January 2014. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, in 1993 and completed his postgraduate studies in Thermal Engineering at Bengal Engineering College in 1995. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2000. His international visit began in 2007 at Saga University in Japan, where he served as a visiting faculty member. He worked as a Research Professor at Hanyang University in South Korea, under the Brain Korea 21 program. His research areas include heat transfer in composite materials, nanomaterials, hyperthermia treatment, solar collectors, and thermoelectric generators, among others. He has published numerous book chapters and conference papers, receiving international recognition, including being listed among the top 2% of global scientists in mechanical engineering by Stanford University for 2020-2025.

Name: ENRICO SCIUBBA           
Biography:

Dr. Enrico Sciubba (M.Eng. Roma 1972, Ph.D. Rutgers, NJ 1981) is emeritus Professor of Turbomachinery & Energy Systems at the Dept. of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering of the Sapienza University of Roma. He has held industrial positions in Europe and taught Thermal Sciences in the US and taught in the field of Thermal Sciences at Rutgers University (on a Fulbright scholarship 1978-1981) and C.U.A. in Washington D.C. (1981-85), and Europe; his current position is that of Adjoint Professor at Cusano U. of Roma and of Visiting Professor at Ovidius U. in Constanţa. He holds two honorary Doctoral Degrees, from the U. of Galati and from Ovidius University (Romania). His currently active research topics are the exergy analysis of complex systems; the CFD-aided optimization of energy-conversion components; the design of ultra-micro gas-turbinesrs, and the application of AI techniques to the design of energy conversion systems. He has authored or co-authored 4 books (2 in english) and over 200 scientific papers. Professor Sciubba is an ASME Fellow, is the General Secretary of the ECOS Intl. Society inc. and a member of several international Engineering Societies. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Energies (www.mdpi.org.energies/), and Associate Editor for Energy, Int. Name: HAKAN F. OZTOP           
Biography:

Hakan F. Oztop is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Technology Faculty, Firat University, Elazig, Turkey. He received his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Firat University in 1996 and later on pursued masters and Ph.D. degrees at the same university energy division in 2003. His main research fields are computational fluid dynamics, energy storage, combustion, and renewable energy. He studied at the University De Montreal, Ecole Polytechnique, Canada in 2002 and Auburn University Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2004 for short-time studies. Name: HUSEYIN R. HIZIROGLU           
Biography:

A Life Senior Member of IEEE Professor Hiziroglu has been a faculty member at Kettering for over 40 years, and his current ongoing experimental and theoretical research is focused on the study of electrical properties of polymeric dielectrics to predict the aging. He was also responsible for modeling and integrating Power Electronic Circuits with Fuel Cells and Solar Cells as part of a Renewable Energy Resources Program at Kettering University. His scholarly activities have been funded by such industrial companies as General Motors, 100K Ideas etc. and such government agencies as the National Science Foundation etc., and published in such reputable journals as IEEE Transactions, Journal of Electrostatics, Journal Physics of Plasmas, Journal Polymers etc, and international IEEE Conference Proceedings as 70 articles. Professor Hiziroglu is a co-author of a book entitled, “Electric Machinery and Transformers”, 3rd edition 2001, by Oxford University Press, and another book entitled, “Electromagnetic Field Theory Fundamentals”, 2nd edition 2004, by Cambridge University Press, translated into Spanish, Korean and Chinese by Oxford University Press as well as by Cambridge University Press. Biography:

Xuejun (James) Ren is a Professor of Engineering (since 2010), Director of MEMARC (2012-) and GERI (204-2026) at Liverpool John Moores University (UK). He graduated from Yanshan University (China) with a BEng (H.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering and obtained his MSc/PhD degree in Advanced Manufacturing and Design from University of Hull (UK). He has previously worked at several different universities and companies (e.g. Uni. of Exeter, Serco Assurance/AMEC, UK). Prof. Ren is a long serving editorial board member of “Materials & Design” and acted as chairperson/speaker at many different conferences. His current research interests and activities are in Materials Characterization, Processing, Modelling and Data-led New Materials Development. He has authored/co-authored over 120 SCI journal papers, supervised over 15 PhD students as DOS. His research has been sponsored by EPSRC, DTI, HEFCE, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, NHS, EU and industrial sources. Name: LI WANGI           
Biography:

Dr Li Wang has her first degree in Material Science and Engineering, MSc in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, and PhD in Computational Mechanics. She worked at the Solid mechanics group, Oxford University after her PhD involved in various EPSRC and Industrial (Rolls-Royce) R&D projects across aerospace and automotive industries. Her focus was on impact behaviour of materials and structures, employing experimental testing and numerical simulations. She had many years’ industrial experience with Global Packaging Design Group in Unilever R&D, managing several large projects and leading the CAE team and Design Engineering Team with different functions (mechanical and thermal modelling, mould design and cooling systems, Low temperature technologies, discover, supply chain, etc). She joined School of Engineering and Material Science, at Queen Marry University of London in 2022 as senior lecturer and Director of Student Experience and Industrial Link for Queen Marry Engineering School (Jointly with Northwestern Polytechnical University, China). Her recent research interests covered both research and engineering education. Dr Wang has published widely in different areas since transferring from industry to academia, including a recent paper on Nature Scientific reports on Sustainability and materials. She has involved in supervision of several PhD research projects including joint supervision for H2020 MSCA Individual fellowship. She delivered many presentations in the past few years including invited talks at leading international industrial/academic conferences.

 

 

Name: MAJID R. AYATOLLAHI           
Biography:

Majid R. Ayatollahi (PhD, University of Bristol, UK, 1998) is a distinguished professor and director of fatigue and fracture research laboratory in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). His main fields of interest are fracture mechanics of engineering materials, as well as the experimental and computational solid mechanics. He has received several prestigious national awards as eminent professor from the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Iranian Academy of Science, Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers. Professor Ayatollahi is the author of three books published by Springer International in 2016, 2019 and 2020. He is currently a member of the editorial boards for 10 international (ISI) journals and has served as reviewer for more than 70 international journals. His research lab is now in international research collaboration with several renowned European and East Asian institutions. He has presented numerous plenary/keynote talks in international conferences and universities. Since 2017, Professor Ayatollahi has continuously been among Top 1% world scientists in terms of the number of citations, based on Essential Science Indicators (Web of Science Group–Clarivate). With an h-index=84 and total citations more than 23,420 (google scholar), Professor Ayatollahi has published more than 400 fully refereed papers in well-known international (ISI) journals. His articles span a wide range of theoretical, computational and experimental studies dealing with the mechanical and failure behavior of different engineering materials at various length scales.

Mohammad Ameri is currently a Full Professor and Energy Conversion Chair in the Mechanical and Energy Engineering Department at the Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran, Iran. He received the Award of the Distinguished Researcher of the Country, Ministry of Higher Education, Iran. He was granted the prestigious Kharazmi National Award of the Best Applied Research Project Prize for the Cooperation in the “Design, Modeling & Testing of Deaerator,” Ministry of Higher Education, Iran. He is the Editorial member of Journal of Renewable Energy & Environment. He was the National Consultant for “Development Study for Institutional Capacity Development on Energy Management in the Building Sector in the Islamic Republic of Iran” project, JICA Study Team, Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI). Biography:

Dr. Barakat is currently serving as a Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler. Dr. Barakat is a professionally registered engineer in Ontario, Canada, a Fulbright Specialist, and is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Dr. Barakat holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, Ontario, and a Master Degree from Concordia University, Canada. Dr. Barakat is actively serving in many leadership positions for professional organizations such as ASME, NIEE, IEEE-Educational Society, and ASEE. Dr. Barakat is also a program evaluator for ABET, currently serving as ABET commissioner, and a consultant for engineering programs development and evaluation under other systems. Name: NIHAD DUKHAN           
Biography:

Dr. Nihad Dukhan is a professor and chair of mechanical engineering at University of Detroit Mercy. His publications include over 180 refereed articles and two books. Prof. Dukhan is among the few scholars who have significantly contributed to the advancement of the science and technology of metal foam in the fundamental and applied realms. Dr. Dukhan's research continues to make significant impact on understanding flow and heat transfer in metal foam, especially for thermal management of electronics and other heat transfer enhancement. Professor Dukhan has edited the most recent book on metal foam technology: Metal Foams Fundamentals and Applications, DEStech Publications, Lancaster, PA, 2013. He chaired the 11th edition of the biannual international conference on metal foam in 2019, and has been serving as a member of the steering committee of the conference ever since. His research work had been funded by NSF, Ford Motor Company, Pratt and Whitney, NASA-PR Space Grant Consortium, DENSO North America and Constellium. Professor Dukhan’s pedagogical publications cover thermodynamics understanding, service learning, undergraduate research, and non-technical skills. Dr. Dukhan is an invited speaker in national and international conferences. His work has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Faculty Achievement Award (the highest honor from University of Detroit Mercy), Fulbright Scholar Award and Fellow grade of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Name: OMID MAHIAN           
Biography:

Omid Mahian is a full Professor at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, Ningbo University. He was also a visiting professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London. Currently, he is a member of the Editorial Board of Energy (Elsevier), Renewable Energy (Elsevier), and Journey of Solar Energy Engineering (ASME) and some other journals. His research direction mainly includes the application of nanotechnology in renewable energy (such as nanofluids application in solar collectors and solar desalination) and analysis of thermal systems. So far, he has published more than 200 SCI papers. He has papers in top journals including Joule, Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, Physics Reports and Nano Energy. Salim Hiziroglu has Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University, MS degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and BS degree from Karadeniz Technical University in Turkey. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management at Oklahoma State University. His research has focused primarily on value-added lignocellulosic composite panel technology. Biography:

Dr. Salim Newaz Kazi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He obtained his BSc, MSc, and MS in Mechanical Engineering and his Ph.D. in Chemical and Materials Engineering. After a long career in the petrochemical industry and consultancy work in different engineering companies, Dr. Kazi transitioned to academics in 2009. He is specialized in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, particle characterization, heat exchanger fouling mitigation, nanofluid synthesis and applications, and renewable energy. He has many years of engineering service experience in petrochemical industries and chemical plants where he worked as a senior engineer and plant manager. He also worked as a consultant for different engineering companies and was involved in plant design and installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and so on. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng, UK), a fellow of the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (FIEB, Bangladesh), and a member of several professional bodies, including the Institution of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE, UK) and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM, Malaysia). Dr. Kazi has supervised and evaluated many Ph.D. and master’s theses. He has published numerous technical papers in national and international journals and conference proceedings. He has also published technical book chapters and edited engineering books. He has participated in many international engineering conferences and congresses and has given invited speeches. He has also filed many patents. Dr. Kazi received several awards in recognition of his contributions to research and innovation.
